Tolman's appearance in the film The Mindy Project, as romance novelist Abby Berman for two episodes, was announced the same. In 2015, her supporting part was played by Michael Dougherty in the film, horror-film Krampus. Tolman's breakthrough role in the film as Fargo caused her to drop various supporting roles, such as those of mothers as well as best friend and wife.
